Dear Villagers
I promised that I would let you know whether we are able to open kitchen@thecastle for takeaways during November. I am delighted to say that Lesley, Angus and the team are looking forward to remaining open from Wednesday to Sunday from 1100-1600. If the weather is bleak (and we think no one will be venturing out) we may decide to close that day. Please keep an eye on social media. Angus will be masterminding a superb menu including a daily homemade soup which you can take away and heat up at home if you wish. We’ll also be offering our usual range of comforting cakes and warming drinks. We’d like to suggest, if there’s space, that you park facing the moat to enjoy the view of the ducks. Duck food will be available too. Of course, you are very welcome to bring a chair and sit outside – perhaps with a blanket and hot water bottle! Do please tell friends and family that they will be assured of a warm welcome @thecastle even if the temperatures drop. We’ll be making sure that everyone has a loyalty card during November so please ask for details. Finally, while writing, can I extend a heartfelt thank you to the person who donated £100 to the Castle yesterday. We rely on the money we earn and raise to keep Whittington’s Castle open for everyone. We look forward to seeing you @thecastle.
All good wishes
