Unfortunately, we have seen some minor vandalism at the Castle over recent weeks. There have been a number of incidents involving youths on bikes riding fast through the Castle grounds. This is extremely dangerous to all members of the public.
As we have nesting swans, with three eggs so far in their nest, we have reported these incidents to West Mercia Police and alerted our local community police officer, Pete Roberts.
If you see anything untoward or worrying, however small, please get in touch with Pete on 07870219019, or, if you feel West Mercia police need to know about an incident dial 101 if it’s not an emergency; 999 if it is. Police are now patrolling the area.
We are in the process of erecting a screen on the road side to protect the swans’ nest and to give them some privacy.
As you all know swans should not be fed bread (swan food is available at the Castle) and we need to keep our distance as they can be aggressive while protecting their eggs. We thrilled that Sir Tom and Lady Beatrice have found romance and their relationship is blossoming.
