Multi Period Living History Weekend

Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th July 2018

Entrance Donation 3 adults and 1 children.

The site will be open from 10-4pm each day.

Whittington Castle has witnessed over 2000 years of history
and for our Multi Period Living History event,
visitors will be able to time travel through history.
The event will include The Thegns of Mercia
an Anglo Saxon group who will be provide
the story of the battle of Maserfield (Oswestry)
with music/verse and warriors.
The Mercenaries of Mercia will take position in the
Inner Bailey of the Castle and provide a Norman
Guard on the Castle.
The Poor Knights of St Dysmas, The House of the Black Star
will provide medieval encampments. British Empire Forces and
the H.M 22nd Foot will be on hand providing a history of their
Regiment from 1775 in their Redcoats to World War 1.
Then World War 11 will be depicted with representatives
from Cheshire Home Guard and Axis Allied.
Each day their will be a timed programme of talks and demonstrations
in the main arena as well as hands on demonstrations in each encampment.

There will be stalls selling modern day crafts as well as period items, and refreshments are available on site. All in all a must for all providing a fun and informative event for all the family to enjoy.
