2017 will be the 10th Anniversary of the Re-opening of the Castle since the Restoration. Since 2007 the Castle has been self Funding with no Grants from local authorities. The Castle is a charity and all proceeds are used to keep the Castle open for future generations.

2017 will see a number of new events and the draft programme is listed below.

Events for 2017

12th March Car Boot Sale

March 24-26th Napoleonic Re-enactment and Living History Weekend. Skirmishes, weapon displays and talks.

2nd April Whittington Guild - Medieval Living History Encampment.

9th April The House of the Blackstar - Medieval Living History

April 14th Planthunters Fair. Free Entrance (just £1 to park) - open 10-4pm. Top specialist nurseries wth thousands of Plants.

April 16th Car Boot Sale

April 16th-17th Easter Egg Trail. Easter Sunday and Monday from 10-4pm. £1 to pick up a trail and solve the clues to find your egg. Fun for all the family.

30th April -1st May Medieval Event. Living History encampments from Norman to War of the Roses.

28th May Car Boot Sale 28th May The Merry Wives of Windsor – Festival Players. Outdoor Shakespeare Production. 7pm - bring your own chair and picnic and enjoy an evening of Shakespeare at the Castle.

4th June Whittington Guild - Medieval Living History Encampment.

11th June Car Boot sale

18th June The House of the Blackstar - 1940s Event

24th-25th June Knights in Battle - 13th century Living History, Archery

16th July Car Boot Sale

July 29th & 30th Multi Period Event – our largest event of the year. From Medieval to World War 11 – living history encampments plus demonstrations throughout the days.
