Whittington Castle

We hold a holiday club at the Castle each school holiday.  The club sessons last two hours and usually take place on a Wednesday at 12 noon for 2 hours. The sessions include a sandwich lunch and cost £5 each.

Members are training to become Knights and Ladies of the Castle.  They join as Paiges or Squires or Damsels and are all  in training.

Costumes are provided and each session usually includes a themed activity session for the day, a game, a break. The House of the Blackstar medieval re-enactors often come and help to train the members.

SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUB FOR CHILDREN 2011

 27th July - Introduction to the Club.  Introduction to weapons practise and drill practise with guest Apra from The House of the Blackstar

3rd August - Create your own Coat of Arms, art session plus themed games and drama session.

10th August - Archery skills training with guest tutor Gary Scott & weapon training with guest tutor Apra from The House of the Blackstar.

17th August - Drama workshop and creation of our play.

24th August - Meet the medieval doctor and learn about the Plague.  Meet make-up artist Fee Jackson to create some gruesome looks.

31st August - Performance of the story of Fulk Fitzwarine plus Award ceremony.

Summer Holiday Club sessions will take place each Wednesday from 12-2pm

Cost £5 per child to include lunch.
