CLASSIC CAR SHOW, WHITTINGTON CASTLE, SUNDAY 8 APRIL, 10:00-16:00
Whittington Castle is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the sixth running of a popular local car show. The April Fools' Car Show is a free local show that features classic, vintage, veteran, and interesting vehicles of all sorts. Said Richard Banks, the show's founder: "If it goes, it attends. The show is very relaxed, is a good opportunity for owners to get their vehicles out early in the year,
and provides a great day out."
The show will be held on Sunday, 8 April, 2018,
starting at 10:00 and finishing at about 16:00.
The now traditional trophy, made from scraps
from Richard's garage, will be awarded at 15:30.
Over 100 vehicles are expected, and will be on show
in the grounds of the castle, which is owned and run
by the local community. It is believed
to be the only castle in the UK to be cared for and operated in this way.
Said Sue Ellis, Castle Manager: "We're delighted to be hosting the April
Fools' Car Show. Entrance will be free, although we would invite attendees
to consider making a donation to the Castle Trust. The castle has its
origins in the 12th century, and its remains will provide a superb back-drop.
We look forward to inviting many new and returning visitors."
The show will be sponsored by Oswestry Classic Car Garage. Said Tim Hunter, one of the owners: "We run our own show each July, in Ellesmere, in support of Macmillan. The April Fools' show provides another perfect opportunity for us to promote classic cars, and to support another worthy cause - a local landmark."
Anyone wishing to show a vehicle must please register with Richard via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
